Role
Glasgow Association for Mental Health is one of the principal providers of community mental health services in Greater Glasgow. We are commissioned by Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership to deliver a Compassionate Distress Response Service (CDRS) for people in distress who do not require medical or clinical intervention.
We are recruiting for our Primary Care In Hours Pathway, which takes referrals from GPs and their Primary Care Team. The In-Hours service operates Monday to Friday, 9am – 4.30pm.
The service operates from our GAMH Head Office, St Andrews by the Green, 33 Turnbull Street, Glasgow G1 5PR.
Key Skills:
Good communication skills for effective collaboration with referrers and service users. Compassionate listening skills to alleviate distress. Ability to identify coping strategies, self-management techniques, and make onward referrals when appropriate. Confidence and competence in risk assessment, safety planning, and escalation processes. SVQ 3 or equivalent, or willingness to achieve this qualification, is essential.
