BDS are recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor for a Housing Association covering the South and East of England. As the Health & Safety Advisor for the South & East, you’ll support and improve colleague safety, providing assurance that the health and safety management system is meeting its legal requirements and that risk controls are in place and effective. This will be achieved through delivering colleague safety training programmes, supporting and advising colleagues in your areas and auditing to a schedule in order to monitor and analyse the performance of the health and safety management system. You’ll also be involved in accident investigations and providing a responsive service to colleagues and customers when they need advice on Health & Safety matters. Duties will include but not be limited to: * Owning the colleague health & safety experience for your area; providing advisory services to colleagues and liaising with management teams to ensure health & safety arrangements are in place and effective. * Working with the Group Health & Safety Manager and internal audit colleagues to develop an audit system that can be used to ensure that health & safety risks are controlled and customer and colleague safety is ensured. * Auditing all aspects of safety to ensure that controls are effective and colleagues and customers are safe, secure and well. * Assisting the Group Health & Safety Manager in investigation of accidents and incidents and making recommendations where improvement action is required. The Candidate: * Excellent knowledge of current health & safety legislative and regulatory requirements. * NEBOSH Level 3 * Experience of internal auditing or auditing in a variety of health & safety fields * Curious, creative and innovative in problem solving, an analytical mind with an eye for detail and a capacity for logical and critical thinking * Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use This is a Full time Permanent position working within a small but well established team with opportunity for ongoing training and development.
