Care Worker – Day Centre Camden £18/hr Start date: ASAP Full Time: Mon – Fri 36/hrs a week Hatched Recruitment is looking for a new Care Worker in the Camden area. 3 – 6 months contract. Job Purpose: To provide high quality personal, social and emotional care for clients within day care setting. To care for and be aware of the needs of people who attend a day centre and help them achieve a fulfilled, self-determined and dignified life. To take part in the care planning process and provide care for individual clients to meet the objectives of agreed personal care plans. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * To be aware of the individual needs of clients and respond appropriately to their likes and dislikes. * To monitor clients’ practical and personal needs, which may include clothing, hairdressing and health needs, such as dentistry and chiropody. * To be aware of clients’ emotional needs, provide support in times of distress and assist in maintaining good relationships with relatives, friends and other users of the service. * To assist with organising and leading activity groups for clients which may focus on educational, leisure or therapeutic themes. * To write basic information reports and assist the senior staff in maintaining routine administrative systems. WORK CONTEXT * The role holder needs to be flexible and adaptable at all times as the role involves working with people with challenging complex needs. * The role holder may be exposed to unpleasant conditions due to the nature of ‘personal care’. The work environment may also be noisy. * Equipment is provided for all manual handling. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS * Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check. * NVQ Level 2 in Care. * LDAF Induction. * Minimum of two years’ experience of working with Learning Disabilities or in older people’s services
