I am seeking an Electrical and Modernisation Engineer to work on-site for a well-known client based in the Bristol area. The right Electrical and Modernisation Engineer will be a part of our service team, playing a crucial role in connecting legacy machinery with current technologies, offering support to both service and engineering departments, and assisting in the evolution of next-generation, high-efficiency packaging systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver custom electrical and software solutions for an existing install base of the client's packaging equipment, including older systems.
- Develop and implement electrical/software upgrades aimed at enhancing performance and extending machine lifespan.
- Collaborate closely with field service and engineering teams to diagnose and solve advanced technical challenges.
- Provide expert technical support to service personnel, aiding in system analysis, diagnostics, and engineering guidance.
- Travel to customer sites both domestically and internationally to support installation and commissioning of modernisation solutions.
- Support integration of updated control systems into older machines, ensuring functionality and performance standards are met.
- Maintain awareness of cost objectives during design, procurement, and assembly processes.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable qualification.
- Demonstrable experience in Electrical and Software Engineering-ideally within the packaging sector.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Clear and methodical reporting style.
- Experience with Rockwell, Beckhoff, and Zenon programming environments.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN for design purposes.
- Knowledge of CE marking, NEC (NFPA 70/79), CSA, and UL compliance standards.
- Demonstrates leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement.
