We are looking for an experienced Data Cabling Engineer to join a 3-month contract project in Glasgow centre. This role involves the installation, termination, and testing of Cat 5e, Cat 6, and Cat 6a cabling within a commercial environment. The ideal candidate will be reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working long hours to meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:- Install and route structured cabling (Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6a) in walls, ceilings, and raised floors.
- Terminate and label cables into patch panels, data outlets, and network hardware.
- Test and certify cabling installations using Fluke or equivalent tools.
- Work from technical drawings, floor plans, and cable schedules.
- Follow project timelines and ensure installation meets industry standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times.
- Minimum 2 years' experience with Cat 5e, Cat 6, and Cat 6a installations.
- Ability to work long shifts (9-14 hours per day) as required.
- ECS/CSCS card (preferred).
- Familiarity with structured cabling best practices and tools.
- Own basic tools and PPE (preferred but not essential).
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Start Date: 2nd June 2025
- End Date: 1st September 2025
- Daily Hours: Between 9 to 14 hours/day, depending on site requirements
- Days: Monday to Saturday (occasional Sunday work may be required)
