Porter

St John’s College, one of the largest Colleges within the University of Cambridge, is seeking to appoint a Porter to join our Portering Department. The role involves carrying out a variety of tasks, including working in the Porters’ Lodges to provide a welcoming reception service, patrolling the College to ensure the security of the College buildings and grounds, and ensuring the safety of those living, working, and visiting the College.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a customer-related environment, with excellent communication skills, particularly in relation to young people. A calm and diplomatic attitude is essential, as is the ability to use their own initiative to solve problems.
