The role is crucial in ensuring the effective maintenance and design of street lighting and related infrastructure within the organisation’s jurisdiction. Role Purpose: To undertake duties relating to the planned and routine maintenance of street lighting, CMS system, EV Charging, illuminated and non-illuminated signs, and road markings. To assist in designing the street lighting, signage (illuminated & non-illuminated), and road markings for capital projects as and when required. Key Responsibilities: Manage and implement street lighting and signs work in accordance with specifications and available resources. Support both electrical and non-electrical routine, planned, and safety street lighting systems, including Smart street lighting CMS system and Electrical Charger points. Oversee or assist with the management of the installation and maintenance of all road markings within the borough. Ensure street signs and road markings comply with legal traffic orders. Co-ordinate works by contractors and public utility companies in accordance with the Traffic Management Act, ensuring works are undertaken in default as necessary. Carry out systematic and ad hoc inspections, investigations, and condition surveys using data capture equipment to record defects and other data. Attend technical meetings, providing advice and information on matters related to street lighting and road markings. Stay informed of technical developments affecting street lighting and ancillary works, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Job Requirements: Experience in street lighting and lighting systems. Understanding of Confirm asset management systems is desirable. Ability to manage maintenance and installation projects effectively. Familiarity with legal traffic orders and compliance requirements. Strong communication skills, capable of liaising with various stakeholders and providing technical advice. Proficiency in conducting inspections and using data capture equipment. Competence in using computer-based databases relevant to street lighting and road markings. Capability to adapt to technical developments and advancements in the field.
