SEMH Teaching Assistant

West Midlands/ temporary / £70 - 95 per day. TeacherActive are currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work on a day to day, short term and long term basis in SEMH/SEND schools based in Birmingham. We are looking for people who have experience working with challenging students who are looking for a slight career change to move into a school environment. The school is requiring extra staff due to additional student referrals, which has meant that the school needs extra staff to work 1:1 and provide general classroom help.

Responsibilities:

• Support pupils out of the classroom, with pastoral and personal development.
• Manage behaviour of pupils sent out of class, freeing up other TAs.
• Patrol school working with pupils not in class, for whatever reason.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience working with teenagers.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Team player attitude with a positive and flexible approach to work.
• Experience within an SEMH school or setting.
