A Laundry/Kitchen Assistant is to ensure that every resident enjoys clean and well-maintained laundry that is presented to the required standard. Lastly, as a Kitchen Assistant, you will assist in the preparation of ingredients, maintaining a clean kitchen, and supporting the cook with meal preparation where needed.

Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to: Laundry Assistant:
- To efficiently manage the laundering of clothing and linen, thereby preventing un-necessary build-up.
- To ensure the laundry is identified for the correct loading of washer(s) and dryer(s).
- To have a knowledge of wash and drying programmed for differing fabrics and separate accordingly.
- To ensure there is a regular stock of detergent and fabric conditioner.
- To be responsible for the maintenance of the laundry equipment and the regular de-fluffing of the dryer(s), reporting any defects to the Manager or Housekeeper.
Kitchen Assistant:
- Assist cook in the preparation of vegetables and at very busy periods where necessary.
- To clean the cooker, oven hot plate, Bain Maries, and all other equipment including Fridges and Freezers as per the cleaning schedule.
- To follow the cleaning schedule as directed by the Head Cook.
- To deal with the waste bags in accordance with health & safety and infection control procedures.
- Ensure that tea trolleys and trays are kept clean at all times.
- Ensure the dishwasher is maintained to required standard as per cleaning schedules.
