Main purpose of the role: We are looking for someone who loves books! Our Thames Drive shop has a book department which needs regular rotating and re-filling. We also do charity scanning with any books we can't sell and books that have had their chance on the shop floor and haven't sold.

Volunteers Responsibilities:

  • To sort books, deciding which will be sold and which will be scanned.
  • Rotating books that have been on sale for two weeks or more.
  • Pricing and re-filling the books while keeping them within subjects.
  • Fiction is displayed alphabetically by author.
  • Scanning books on the computer for charity scanning.
  • Boxing up any books that sell ready for collection.

Skills: No experience necessary, but basic computer skills are an advantage. This role is flexible around the volunteer but a regular commitment is expected anytime between Monday - Sunday 9:30am-4:00pm.

Location: This opportunity is available in Southend.
