The Opportunity Our client is currently seeking an experienced Senior Risk Manager with a proven track record demonstrating leadership to Risk Management within a local SZC programme or similar, compliance with SZC’s PMO risk management direction, and genuinely help safeguard the programme area from major overruns. As a Project Controls professional, you’ll be working with the best talent in major programmes in the UK, with nationally significant and international level work experience. The core controls team has a successful track record of delivery for flagship programmes internationally. Continuous C-suite and Senior Civils Servants engagement and presentations at Project Expos and awards submissions. The Role As a Senior Risk Manager, you will be working on SZC, where you will develop the skills and core nuclear understanding to be successful in the New Nuclear industry. You’ll be positioned to benefit from the near and long-term trend for Nuclear power providing the baseload to global energy needs. As a new Business Unit, you’ll be joining at a time of innovation and change, with an opportunity to put your mark on the business and for this contribution to be recognised. Your Duties and Responsibilities Leadership capabilities, motivational skills, delegation, team management, and team membership. Strong collaboration and peer-to-peer relationship-building skills. Lead a small team of approximately 5 persons. Independently facilitate complex/important workshops for all levels within the programme. Integrate/support breadth of project controls/project delivery/business support processes (e.g. Finance). Independently engage teams of a range of project and corporate professionals. Skills and Experience Required Technical skills to independently deliver large/complex QRAs, spanning Cost QRAs, Schedule QRAs, and Integrated QRAs. Membership of one or more risk or project management organisations e.g. APM, PMI, IRM, CERA or a suitable equivalent. Understanding of scheduling methodologies in project/programme management, including hands-on experience of leading software packages (Oracle P6/Microsoft Project or similar planning tools). Comfortable with quantitative analysis and advanced forecasting i.e. Monte-Carlo methods, probabilistic forecasting, and optimisation. Experience of developing large data models (QSRA/QCRA etc) and their integration into decision-making processes. Understanding of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks and standards. The Setting for the Role Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licensed site. These can include nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gases, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high-pressure circuits, steam, high noise, and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided, and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
