Disability Support Worker – Full Time, Part Time, and Casual
About the Role
Marion Care is seeking passionate and dedicated, highly qualified Senior Disability Support Workers to join our team. In this part-time or casual role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality complex care and support to young and elderly individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and participate actively in their community. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of the people we support.
What You\’ll Be Doing
- Assisting clients with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Accompanying and supporting clients during social and recreational activities, promoting their independence and community involvement.
- Advocating for clients\’ rights and ensuring their needs are met with empathy and respect.
- Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborating with the wider care team to develop and implement individual support plans.
- Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Applicant Must Have:
- Certificate III or IV in Disability/Individual Support and Aged Care.
- A minimum of 2 years\’ experience in a similar disability support role, or a relevant qualification in community services, social work, or a related field.
- Experience in providing complex care and management, including seizures, diabetes, PEG feeding, and high behaviors management.
- A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities and a commitment to improving their quality of life.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Calmness, patience, empathy, a non-judgmental attitude, and a positive outlook.
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- A valid Australian full driver\’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (desirable) with comprehensive car insurance.
- Working with Children Clearance and NDIS Worker Clearance.
- National Police Clearance.
