Are you an experienced PCV driver with a passion for coaching others and maintaining the highest driving standards? Arriva North East and Yorkshire's training school is looking for a PCV Driving Instructor to join our professional training team based in Arriva Yorkshire. This is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the next generation of drivers and supporting Arriva's mission to become Europe’s leading passenger transport provider.
As a Driving Instructor, you’ll be responsible for:
- Training new drivers to pass their DVSA Module 3 and 4 tests
- Coaching on safe driving practices and soft skills for in-service operations
- Delivering engaging induction sessions and supporting new driver recruits
- Conducting pre-employment assessments, remedial training, and route checks
- Monitoring and improving driver standards through observations and feedback
- Supporting depots with investigations and route/timing assessments
- Driving PCV vehicles as required when not instructing
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- A full, clean PCV licence
- Solid experience in PCV driving and a passion for high-quality training
- Strong communication, motivational, and presentation skills
- A proactive and flexible approach to work
- High levels of personal organisation, integrity, and self-motivation
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Good IT skills, including familiarity with Office software
- Legal right to work in the UK
