The Role:
As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining computer numerically controlled (CNC) routing machines to produce precision parts and components. Your role will be vital in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of their manufacturing processes, meeting production targets, and maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Set up and prepare CNC machines for production runs, including loading materials, tool selection, and programming machine parameters.
- Operate CNC machines to perform machining operations such as milling, turning, drilling, and grinding to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Conduct in-process quality checks and inspections to verify that parts meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes.
- Report and troubleshoot any machine malfunctions or irregularities.
- Maintain an organized tool inventory, ensure tool readiness, and replace worn or damaged tools as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety procedures to prevent accidents.
- Record production data, including machine settings, measurements, and quantities produced.
- Complete production logs and reports as required.
- Identify and address machining issues, tool wear, or programming errors to minimize production downtime.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure production schedules are met and communicate any production-related issues or concerns.
