Our client is an Australian technical performance marketing agency, existing to solve tough problems in the marketing of global enterprise companies. THE ROLE
Reporting to the Global Head of SEO, as SEO Director (EU Region), you will be responsible for leading and managing SEO projects for clients in the EU market. At this time a significant proportion of your time will be allotted to a Tier 1 travel client. This is a minimum 80 hours per month contract (guaranteed), flexing up to 100 hrs per month.
You’ll be the primary client-facing SEO expert for the region, ensuring seamless strategy execution and project oversight. You’ll have direct communication with client stakeholders both virtually and in person (your client travel expenses are covered). You’ll coordinate with an existing network of flex-time Content Editors in the EU, ensuring content aligns with SEO best practices and client objectives. You should also be able to handle various aspects of SEO execution when needed.
Accomplished in SEO, you’ll draw on your skills to develop and implement your SEO strategies tailored to each client. As such, you’ll utilise and lead your team of 20+ freelancers (already in place). You’ll competently oversee full-cycle SEO initiatives, from technical audits to content optimisation and authority building. You’ll win trust from your stakeholders, providing SEO insights and recommendations, and ensuring they understand the value and impact of your work. Your passion for keeping ahead of the industry curve will help you identify and implement automation opportunities that improve efficiency. You’ll also confidently recommend and oversee improvements in website architecture, internal linking, page speed, structured data, and crawl efficiency. Whilst working independently as the agency’s lead for the EU region, you’ll be reporting and in close partnership with the team across Asia and Australia.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- A seasoned SEO professional, you’ll bring at least 6 years in SEO and 2 years of recent agency experience.
- Bring a proven track record of delivering results across various industries. Travel experience is a significant advantage.
- Strong experience in handling large websites (with more than 100k pages).
- Proven experience overseeing six-figure monthly client budgets, ensuring strategic allocation and financial accountability.
- Proactively identifies, develops, and pitches new sales opportunities within the region to drive business growth and market expansion.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Using OpenAI or similar platforms to work smarter, not harder.
- Industry tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, OpenAI, Gemini and AI-driven SEO platforms.
- Proactive, innovative, and eager to stay ahead of evolving SEO trends, including AI-powered search and emerging search platforms.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex SEO concepts to clients and internal teams.
- A strategic thinker who understands how SEO contributes to the overall marketing mix and business growth.
LOCATION
Fully remote in the UK, you’ll already have permit to work in the UK in place and be comfortable working from home/remotely. Note the core of this agency are Australia/Asia based, so it’s essential you’ll be able to work in the morning to ensure there is working day crossover within the global team.
