Job Description

Our client is a highly regarded international IP practice with a top ranked patent litigation capability in London. The team works at the cutting edge of technology and telecommunications disputes, advising major multinational businesses on strategically important patent matters. The Role

This is an opportunity for a junior to mid level Patent Attorney to join a leading contentious patent practice. The position will involve supporting complex patent litigation and advisory matters, particularly in the technology and telecommunications sectors. A key element of the role will be working on Standard Essential Patents and FRAND related issues, alongside broader patent strategy, valuation and licensing matters. You will be exposed to high profile disputes and strategic advisory work, with the chance to build both litigation and commercial IP expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support patent litigation matters, including disputes relating to licensing, royalty rates and SEPs and FRAND frameworks
  • Apply your technical expertise to assist with complex technology focused patent disputes
  • Conduct patent portfolio and dataset analysis and translate findings into commercial and legal insights
  • Review and assess patent licences and contribute to royalty modelling and valuation work
  • Manage aspects of client matters including drafting reports, coordinating workflows and meeting deadlines
  • Work closely with technical specialists, international colleagues and commercial teams to deliver integrated advice

Requirements

  • Qualified Patent Attorney with experience in private practice or a comparable IP environment
  • Strong academic background in a STEM discipline or equivalent technical experience
  • Interest in contentious patent work, licensing strategy and patent analytics
  • Experience with data analysis or strong aptitude to develop quantitative skills
  • Highly organised with strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Able to communicate complex technical issues clearly and commercially
