PIC has a great opportunity for a Trade Operations Analyst to join our Trade Operations team as part of the IPP investment platform project. This role involves onboarding Aladdin as the new portfolio management system and insourcing middle office functions. You will support multiple Portfolio Management and Trading teams investing in Fixed Income, FX, Liquidity Management, Treasury, and Private Equity / Private Credit products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with market counterparties and outsourced providers to strengthen relationships, positioning PIC as a responsive, thoughtful, and fair counterparty.
  • Understand market best practices and explore their adoption within PIC.
  • Oversee and manage Fixed Income trade lifecycle and settlements, aiming to minimize failed settlements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of BAU tasks such as trade and cash instructions.
  • Extract and analyze trading, matching, and settlement data to inform internal stakeholders about trends relevant to our investment operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Investment Operations, Pension Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk, and Change teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Technical:

  • Experience with the full trade lifecycle, from execution to settlement, including confirmations, matching, and reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with Aladdin is desirable; experience with other portfolio management systems is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of market utilities such as CTM, Swift, CLS, Bloomberg, TradeWeb, MarketAxess, Alert, and Onboarding Accelerator.
  • Experience with various financial products, including fixed income, FX liquidity funds, private equity, and derivatives.
  • Knowledge of corporate actions, especially in fixed income, is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in VBA, Python, or similar coding languages is desirable.

  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, from Portfolio Managers to Custodians.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to organize work to meet deadlines.
  • Experience delivering accurate, well-presented, and timely analysis.
