The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 Β£ per year.
We are currently seeking an Ocean Import Clerk for our client, an independent Freight Forwarding company based in Suffolk, who provide worldwide Shipping services.
As an Ocean Import Clerk, you will handle the end-to-end ocean import operations, processing shipping documentation, customs clearance, and coordinating with overseas agents, suppliers, and customers. You will arrange shipments, book cargo space with carriers, and track the movement of goods to ensure timely delivery.
Other duties of the Ocean Import Clerk include:
- Plan loads and send load lists to agents.
- Receive pre-alerts from overseas agents.
- Advise customers on arrival of cargo into the UK.
- Check manifests once received.
- Liaise with clients, providing updates on shipment status, resolving any issues or delays.
- Create files both manually and on the computer system, ensuring all records and documentation related to import activities are accurate and filed properly.
To be a successful Ocean Import Clerk, you will have a good operational know-how of import procedures, excellent customer service skills, and commercial sense. You will have previous experience in ocean import operations within a Freight Forwarding or Shipping company.
