Leigh Academy Milestone has an exciting opportunity to appoint a Speech & Language Therapy Assistant to support the work of the Speech and Language Therapy Team. The appointed candidate will play a pivotal role in the team by helping to enhance the work of their already established department with the provision of speech and language therapy within an outstanding special educational needs environment.
The department benefits from incredibly strong leadership and this is a great opportunity for an individual who is looking to make a contribution to the already diverse therapy team within the academy. The successful candidate will be a strong team player and will support their colleagues to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service.
Under the supervision of and with support from the Speech and Language Therapists, our ideal candidate will need to work with the therapy team, making resources, and delivering interventions to support the children’s speech, language and communication needs. The Speech and Language Therapy Assistant will also need to understand and develop knowledge of children’s development and have the ability to identify the areas of difficulty for children with special education needs. General administration duties will also be a key responsibility for the successful individual.
This role offers an actual salary of ÂŁ18,012 per annum (ÂŁ24,404 full time equivalent) based on working 31.75 hours per week, term time + 1 week of inset on a fixed-term contract of 1 year. The start and finish times for this role are 8:45am - 3:30pm. This is an ideal role for those who wish to take advantage of the school holidays.

We currently have 385 pupils on roll aged between the ages of 2 and 19. Leigh Academy Milestone has been judged as Outstanding by Ofsted at our last three inspections.
