We are The Forward Trust, a social enterprise with charitable status that empowers people to break the often interlinked cycles of crime and addiction to move forward with their lives. For more than 25 years, we have been working with people to build positive and productive lives, whatever their past. We believe that anyone is capable of lasting change. Our services have supported thousands of people to make positive changes and build productive lives with a job, family, friends, and a sense of community.

Adults have a proven reoffending rate of 25%. Forward Trust is on a mission to change that because we believe another life is possible. We support People on Probation in Lincolnshire to successfully complete their Probation Supervision, to stop offending, and to live their potential. Delivering interventions and providing support so that they build relationships with their community, other services, pro-social friends, families, and themselves. Building a crime-free life stops the cycle of harm.

What you will be doing?

Our aim is to reduce re-offending through a comprehensive, holistic, and person-centred package of support. This role is primarily responsible for the delivery of the social inclusion category and the development and management of the Peer Mentor service, while actively promoting this service across the county. You will be required to recruit, train, and supervise the peer mentors. You will be working within a team of practitioners and subcontractors, delivering Personal Well Being Services to support adult male prison leavers (pre/post release) and those on community orders.

You will manage a diverse caseload with a range of complexities and risk levels. You will be responsible for completing comprehensive assessments, creating collaborative action plans, and maintaining accurate record-keeping throughout. You will adhere to the targets set by Forward and the local commissioners. Cooperative working relationships with other partner agencies and probation staff are vital to this role. This role will be remote-based with the requirement to travel throughout the county, meeting service users in custody and upon release from prison; also co-locating with probation services across a range of mandated locations. There is an element of working from home.

What are we looking for?

  • Belief in the ability of anyone to change, that another life is possible.
  • A genuine passion for helping others and an ability to form strong working alliances with Service Users, Colleagues, Probation Practitioners, and all stakeholders.
  • Transferable skills or direct experience of needs and risk assessment, action planning, delivering 1:1 and group interventions, keeping detailed accurate records, safeguarding self and others, and taking part in continuous professional development.
  • Trustworthy, a team player, confident and safe when working independently.
  • Creativity, collaboration, and flexibility.
  • Strives to meet and exceed own and shared targets as well as high standards for delivery.

What we offer

  • Training and development opportunities
  • Flexible working
  • Simply Health Cashback Scheme (Optional)
  • Season Ticket Loan Scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Crisis Loan Scheme
  • Electric Car Scheme
  • 3 x Wellbeing Days (pro rata'd for part-time employees)
