Are you looking to further your career in the Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) industry? BMSI is looking for a Business Development Manager to cover our North East Region. If you are a passionate and enthusiastic person who enjoys building relationships with customers and if you have a background in BEMS this could be the role for you.

Reporting to our Head of Support Sales, this is a hybrid working role with the flexibility to work from home, our regional office and with travel across the North East to meet with new and existing clients.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • The primary focus will be to generate new business by acquiring new customers whilst also increasing opportunities with existing clients.
  • Quoting for new Services and Contract Uplifts in line with the company's commercial Standards.
  • Conducting market research to identify potential clients and market trends.
  • Create a strategic sales plan designed to identify potential clients who may (or should) be looking for support with their buildings, whether this be with energy management or their building's energy management systems (BEMS).
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Presenting our BEMS solutions to clients and effectively articulating the value proposition.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to develop tailored proposals and solutions.
  • Meet and exceed both short-term revenue goals as well as build consistent long-term revenue potential.
  • Providing regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
The Ideal Candidate
  • A proven track record in sales and business development.
  • It would be beneficial if you have relevant experience in Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS), complementary Building Management Services or Facilities Management, or a mechanical and electrical background.
  • The ability to create and develop strong working relationships with potential new customers.
  • You’ll have the ability to close on new business prospects to drive growth.
  • You’ll be an excellent communicator both written and verbally.
  • Sales driven and customer-focused.
  • You will be organised and have the ability to prioritise your workload.
  • Will have a flexible approach to working for travelling to different sites and customer locations.
  • It is essential that you hold a full driving license and are located within travelling distance of the North East.
