We are seeking a Lead Trainer in Signalling and Telecoms (S&T). This is an exciting opportunity to train and assess our workforce of the future in Warrington Training Centre. As a Lead Trainer, no two days will ever be the same. You will be delivering training and assessments for up to twelve adult learners during each training course, supporting delegates to achieve desired learning and development outcomes and promoting opportunities for continuous change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the delivery of inspirational technical, safety, and behavioural training, assessment, coaching, and mentoring activities using diverse delivery methods including face-to-face, virtual, and digital solutions.
  • Actively foster a safety-first, No-Unsafe-Acts culture within employees and promote the Network Rail Values at every touch point.
  • Support the development of apprentices, including undergoing relevant safeguarding checks and supporting the assessment of their NVQs and work-based learning.
  • Provide an excellent learner experience by enhancing enjoyment, motivation to learn, and value gained from the training event.
  • Must be experienced and fully capable in the relevant technical or operational competence and willing to undertake continuous professional development.
  • Develop and improve training and assessment materials, aids, and equipment.
  • Contribute positively to the continuous improvement of the Training Centre's internal quality procedures and external inspections.
  • As a Network Rail Manager, actively support and enforce company processes, initiatives, and policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of the technical or operational capability relevant to the role.
  • Excellent presentational skills.
  • Ability to affect culture change and to motivate and inspire.
  • Ability to demonstrate management capabilities of developing, planning, thinking, and achieving.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience of railway maintenance or operations.
  • An understanding of different learning styles.
  • Sound knowledge of rules, regulations, and working instructions.
  • Displays attributes of a team player.
  • A background, experience, or qualification in adult learning.
