Are you ready to kickstart your career in a vibrant and supportive environment? We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic team at Craigavon Area Hospital Department. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing your skills.

Position: Administrative Assistant

Location: Craigavon Area Hospital Department

Hours: 32.5 hours per week (exclusive of meal times)

Pay: Competitive

Type: Temporary, with flexible working provisions available

Start Date: As soon as possible

What You'll Do:

  • Referral Management: Register incoming referrals for Cardiac investigations on the computerised system (TOMCAT) and add to relevant waiting lists.
  • Protocol Compliance: Ensure that all referrals are processed in line with protocols for timely prioritisation (Urgent, managed, and routine).
  • Booking Implementation: Fully implement booking using the waiting list by contacting patients as required and issuing letters.
  • Telephone Communication: Answer calls and deal with inquiries from various callers, including the public and other Trust staff.
  • Conflict Resolution: Use interpersonal skills to defuse complex or contentious calls.
  • Appointment Notifications: Assist in notifying of cancelled appointments and record information on TOMCAT regarding specific Cardiac Investigation results.
  • Record Management: Maintain, update, file, and retrieve departmental records, both manual and electronic.
  • Administrative Support: Provide cover for colleagues within the Cardiology department as required.

  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications and can manage multiple tasks efficiently.
