We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Lead to join our HR team. This role has responsibility for the end to end processing of our weekly payroll.
Main Responsibilities- Maintain the payroll processing system and time and attendance records
- Adhere to payroll policies and procedures and comply with relevant legislation
- Identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies in time and attendance and payroll records
- Complete payroll reports for record keeping and management information
- Comply with tax and national insurance obligations
- Liaise with colleagues across the business including HR, Finance and Operations
- Previous experience of preparing payrolls
- Exceptional organisational and planning skills
- The ability to work to strict deadlines
- A great eye for detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Maintain confidentiality
- Accounting and bookkeeping skills
- Excellent IT skills
- Confident on Excel
- Familiarity with payroll software
- Understanding of tax and national insurance procedures
- Familiarity with benefits and other wages deductions
- GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English

What Willerby can offerYou can expect a competitive starting salary, eligibility for discretionary bonus and life assurance, 25 days annual leave in addition to public holidays, along with service holidays and a holiday purchase scheme. We offer enhanced employer pension contributions of 6%. You’ll also get the option to join a Private Health Scheme. We are currently trialling a 4-day compressed week where your 37.5 hours per week are worked Monday - Thursday. This trial is due to be reviewed before the end of August 2025.
