Prison Nurse Sutton Yorkshire Locum – Full Time Part Time in North Yorkshire

Dream Medical are working with a Prison in Yorkshire and are looking for an experienced Prison Nurse to work part or full time hours within the healthcare department. You must have Prison Nursing experience, CTC Clearance and Prison clearance in place for this position.

Responsibilities:

1. Health promotion & education
2. Providing clinical assessments
3. Triage and treatment of detainees/patients
4. Health Screening
5. Administration of medications and treatment of minor illness
6. Chronic disease management (Diabetics, hypertension, COPD, asthma, ischaemic heart disease, cardiovascular disease)
7. Ear irrigation/ear syringing
8. Hepatitis B vaccination
9. Assessment of detainees to identify self harm/suicidal risk with appropriate interventions
10. Wound care management and compression bandaging
11. Management of substances and alcohol abuse – symptomatic reliefs, administration of methadone and subutex
12. Phlebotomy
13. Venepuncture
14. Providing counseling, social and psychological support

Minimum Requirements:

• Be registered with NMC with a valid pin
• Have Prison Clearance
• Have Prison Nursing Experience
• Have an Enhanced DBS issued within 1 year
