Youth Worker - In School Support

[School Name], a vibrant three form entry primary school in Fishponds, is seeking a compassionate and proactive Youth Worker to join our supportive staff team. This in-school role is perfect for someone with youth work experience who wants to make a real difference in pupils’ lives, especially those with additional needs.

About the Role:

• Provide in-school support to pupils, primarily those with additional needs, helping them engage positively with learning and school life
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may experience emotional, social, or behavioural challenges
• Work closely with teaching staff, SENDCo, and pastoral teams to deliver targeted interventions and tailored support
• Help pupils develop resilience, confidence, and positive behaviour through mentoring, group work, and 1:1 sessions
• Contribute to a nurturing and inclusive school environment where every child is valued and supported
• Monitor pupil progress and wellbeing, sharing insights and strategies with the wider team

Ideal Candidate:
Experience as a Youth Worker, or in a similar role supporting young people with additional or complex needs
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both children and adults
Calm, patient, and adaptable, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset
Able to work as part of a collaborative team and respond to the dynamic needs of the school day
Understanding of safeguarding and a strong commitment to pupil welfare
Relevant qualifications in youth work, education, or child development are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
