A multidisciplinary consultancy in South East London is seeking a talented and motivated Assistant Building Surveyor to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in a supportive and dynamic environment, working alongside experienced professionals on a range of diverse projects within the building surveying field.
As an Assistant Building Surveyor, you will be working on a variety of projects for both private and public sector clients, providing building surveying services across a broad range of sectors, including commercial, residential, and industrial properties. You will assist in the preparation of reports, surveys, inspections, and project management duties, and gain valuable hands-on experience while working towards your professional qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake site inspections and surveys, identifying defects and recommending solutions
- Assist with project management of refurbishment, maintenance, and development projects
- Produce detailed reports, schedules of work, and specifications
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other professionals to ensure projects are completed to high standards
- Support senior colleagues with contract administration, tendering, and procurement processes
- Assist in the management of costs, ensuring projects remain within budget
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations and health & safety standards
Key Requirements
- An RICS accredited degree in Building Surveying
- Some experience working in a building surveying role. Ideally 1 – 2 years.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
- A proactive and professional attitude with a strong desire to learn and develop
- Full UK driving license
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive salary up to £40,000, depending on experience
