NSG Environmental Ltd delivers work programmes in the nuclear industry for over 40 years, specialising in decommissioning and waste management. We are seeking a Decommissioning Operative to work on projects across the UK under the direction of a Site Supervisor.

Employment

Staff – Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Contract or permanent roles available.

Clearance

DV Security Level Clearance required. Applicants must be eligible to obtain DV clearance.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities

• Review and update skill levels to competently carry out decommissioning tasks.
• Complete Basic Health and Safety Training and basic Radiation Protection training.
• Carry out size reduction, decontamination and decommissioning work on plant and equipment, buildings, rooms and floors.
• Support high‑hazard monitors during waste packaging and processing.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all activities.
• Contribute to internal communication and referral of relevant information.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• GCSE at C grade or above in English, Maths and Science or a technical subject.
• Completion of further or higher education in a related field.
• Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent; training will be provided if required.

Experience & Knowledge

• Familiarity with site work environments.

Skills & Abilities

• Reading, writing and interpreting messages.
• Maintaining simple records and documents.
• Utilising technical or scientific data.
• Working effectively as part of a team.

Package

• Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
• Overtime: 37.5‑60 hours per week – time and half, 60+ hours or Sundays – double time.
