Building Control Surveyor

A multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy require a Building Control Surveyor to join their Compliance team.

As a Building Control Surveyor, you will work as part of a growing team to deliver solutions to meet clients’ aims, objectives, and aspirations within the Building Safety Act and current Building Regulations.

You will work both independently and as part of a team on small-medium to large-sized projects, including education, healthcare, industrial, infrastructure, and new build housing. These will mainly be throughout the Midlands and the North; however, there may be an occasional project further afield.

Duties

1. Providing guidance on the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations.
2. Conducting plan reviews and design assessments to ensure compliance for Building Regulation submissions.
3. Attending client and design team meetings.
4. Delivering technical advice to clients, contractors, colleagues, developers, and key stakeholders.
5. Ensuring project design is completed in line with current building regulations and legislation.
6. Maintaining high-quality project outputs and deliverables.
7. Writing reports including End of Design Stage Reports and Building Regulations Trackers.
8. Inspecting properties and buildings at key stages of the design process.
9. Being aware of repeat and new business opportunities.
10. With assistance, contributing to and developing bid submissions and fee proposals.

Qualifications

1. Degree in a construction related field with a preference for a design i.e. architecture, construction design, or related subject.
2. Membership to RICS, CABE, or CIOB.

Experience

1. Excellent knowledge of the Building Regulations, codes, and any other associated legislation.
2. An understanding and experience of the design and construction process together with experience of inspecting buildings and properties.
3. Experience of working on multiple projects.
