I am looking for a warm, patient, friendly, sensitive and reliable individual to provide support and facilitate my independence as I make the exciting move into my own home. I am a 35 year old lady who lives in Bridgend and has cerebral palsy which has caused physical difficulties and a learning disability. I have profound hearing loss and use Sign Supported English to communicate. I want a support worker to help me increase my independence in my home and to access a variety of community activities. You will work as part of a small team to provide support and assistance whilst promoting my independence and life skills at every opportunity. Your work will be guided by our client’s therapy team, consisting of OT, SLT, physio & psychology.

Occasionally it will be necessary to work additional hours to cover annual leave within the team.

Previous experience in a similar role is essential. Experience of working with clients with communication difficulties is desirable, and BSL knowledge or a willingness to learn BSL is essential.
