The University of Bristol is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Coach to join its boat club coaching team and team of performance coaches.

Role responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Coach in the design and delivery of the rowing program.
  • Undertake coaching duties on and off the water at all stages of our program, from supporting athletes through the GB trials process to our novice program.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate standards of behavior and performance alongside the Head Coach.
  • Assist the Head Coach in ensuring athletes are compliant with Clean Sport requirements and best practice.
  • Assist with identifying and recruiting rowing athletes, both undergraduate and postgraduate.
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of the fleet and training equipment (other than those requiring repair by a third party).
  • Take shared responsibility for boat transport.
  • Work collaboratively with university staff to support the professional delivery of sport within the University environment.
  • We may ask to observe first-hand the applicant coaching before deciding on the applicant’s suitability.
