A well-established HV electrical contractor delivering projects across solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and wider renewable energy infrastructure is seeking two Senior Quantity Surveyors to support its growing portfolio of work. These roles focus on major projects in Cornwall and Essex and are suited to individuals located nearby or happy to travel to site twice per month.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, each QS will take commercial responsibility for large-scale HV projects and provide support on smaller schemes. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking business delivering critical energy infrastructure across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:- Negotiate and manage post-award subcontract terms
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors
- Provide commercial support during tendering and delivery
- Own CVR process, cost/value reporting, and change management
- Lead commercial reviews and ensure contractual compliance
- Work closely with Project Managers to ensure commercial alignment
- Proactively manage risk and cashflow forecasting
- Track and manage contractual changes, LDs, and other key controls
- Travel to project sites approx. twice per month
- Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (preferred)
- Professional memberships (e.g. RICS) desirable but not essential
- Background in project-based environments such as energy, utilities, construction or civils
- Experience working under NEC3/4, FIDIC, or JCT contracts (any or all desirable)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK driving licence and ability to access either Cornwall or Essex sites monthly
- Salary starting at £75,000+ (negotiable depending on experience)
