To support our operations, we now have an exciting new opportunity to join our team as a Strategic Buyer. This role will be responsible for operations activities within the local/regional plant sites to ensure the business is running correctly, and ensuring we have a single point of contact for suppliers and the business.

This role may involve a small element of travel to other sites and suppliers (up to 10%).

Job Responsibilities

The Strategic Buyer will be responsible for:

• Executing standard processes and tools
• Coordinating PPAPs and ramp up/ramp down activities
• Supporting the Sourcing Project Manager on the ramp up/ramp down process of new projects
• Being the first escalation point for supply and/or quality issues
• Facilitating supplier workshops to improve supplier performance
• Owning and maintaining procurement master data for local/regional sites
• Driving capacity management with suppliers to ensure alignment with current forecast and growth opportunities
• Pricing and price change reporting
• Maintenance of tooling register
• Supporting efforts to secure the best total cost of ownership

To thrive in this role, you\’ll display:

• Relevant background and experience within procurement or supply chain functions, ideally spent within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and drive positive results through the creation of positive relationships
• Proactive problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience with categories and components would be highly advantageous
