DSN is a modern, dynamic charity providing a wide range of support services related to sensory loss for people across Cheshire and surrounding areas.

We manage the I’m Hear project with funding from the BBC’s Children in Need to provide bespoke communication and support service to families with a deaf child in their home. The project will offer family support by way of “Family Fun days” and special one-off trips through to support group sessions where parents can meet other parents/carers experiencing a similar situation.

We are looking for a professional & approachable individual with a proactive attitude, the ability to work independently and with good administration skills. Your role will include ensuring that the needs of the deaf child are the heart of the project, and that deaf children and young people experience positive differences including improved communication with their family, leading to increased confidence and independence.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Experience of working directly with children and young people and families.
  2. Experience of identifying and resolving problems, specifically in relation to communication.
