We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing Lead (Government Sector) to drive public sector marketing, public affairs, and communications strategy. In this pivotal role, you will lead and deliver strategic initiatives to enhance brand reputation, deepen government and industry engagement, and shape public policy discussions in line with our business objectives.
You will be responsible for developing compelling campaigns, overseeing thought leadership and PR activities, and fostering high-impact relationships with key stakeholders across government, media, and industry bodies.
Responsibilities- Public Relations & Thought Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive public relations strategy to boost brand awareness and reputation in the public sector. Create engaging content including press releases, thought leadership articles, white papers, and opinion pieces. Identify speaking and panel opportunities for our leadership team to amplify our voice across the industry.
- Public Affairs Engagement: Lead public affairs campaigns that build and maintain strong relationships with government bodies, local authorities, industry groups, and trade associations. Collaborate with customers' public affairs and media teams to enhance lobbying efforts and secure strategic meetings with policymakers.
- Campaign Strategy & Execution: Design and implement communication strategies tailored to government and ministerial stakeholders. Work with internal teams to develop campaigns that position us as the partner of choice in digital infrastructure. Monitor political developments and government tenders, identifying opportunities for commercial growth in coordination with the Sales team.
- Policy Support & Advocacy: Support policy submissions and advocacy on telecom regulations, the Electronic Communications Code (CODE), and infrastructure development. Track legislative changes, offering insights to guide policy engagement.
- Media & Government Relations: Drive proactive PR efforts with government entities, media outlets, devolved administrations, and planning authorities. Manage media relations alongside the Communications Manager to ensure accurate and favourable coverage. Build and maintain a media content calendar and collaborate with customer marketing teams for joint PR efforts and reputation management.
- Broad Marketing Skills: Extensive experience in public relations, public affairs, and communications within a government sector. Strong grasp of marketing principles with a proven ability to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns.
- Government Sector Expertise: Proven experience engaging with government entities, local authorities, and industry bodies. Familiarity with telecom regulations, public policy, and industry trends.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn insights into actionable marketing and communication strategies. A strategic mindset to align initiatives with business goals.
