This role involves mechanical assembly, sheet metal work, fabrication, and finishing of products made from aluminium and steel, which are subsequently welded and tested before final quality inspections. This is a valuable opportunity for skilled Fitters to enhance their expertise in a highly regulated environment. Comprehensive training and support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly guidelines to complete tasks accurately.
- Assemble and test products at various stages of production.
- Collaborate with the production team to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as ACE activities (5S, TPM, Turnbacks, and Clinics).
- Maintain traceability of materials and adhere to quality control standards.
- Pursue ongoing internal and external training, including welding certification requirements.
- Ensure the workspace remains clean, organized, and compliant with company standards.
- Adhere to all Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ, City & Guilds, or a similar vocational qualification in fabrication, mechanical, or engineering (relevant experience will also be considered).
- Demonstrated experience in hand fabrication and sheet metal work.
- Proven ability to work to high tolerance standards.
- Familiarity with precision tools such as Vernier callipers, digital callipers, or measuring gauges.
- Experience in aerospace, motorsport, or similar industries is advantageous but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Additional Requirements:
This role may involve access to export-controlled information and hardware, where an export license may be required to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Employment will be contingent upon satisfactory security checks, export license approval, and, if required, the completion of a non-disclosure agreement.
