Overview
This Hove based insurance business is growing rapidly. They are looking for a Business Development Exec with a strong sales background. They have a very supportive culture and provide thorough training for all new joiners.
The role
- Increase sales by generating leads and winning new business through a programme of verbal and written communications.
- Underwrite and consider each risk before presenting to insurers and authorised signatories.
- Negotiate with Insurers and process new policy terms/quotes.
- Create strategies for growth and improving business procedures.
- Complete and maintain all client communications and records including preparing quotations.
- Support the development of products and services offered by the company including cross selling and upselling.
- Deliver good customer service by responding swiftly to queries and concerns from clients, insurers and brokers.
- Remain abreast of current processes and services offered by the company and be aware of changes.
- Attend team meetings/huddles and share best practice with the wider team.
The Candidate
- Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally with experience of working with multiple products or services.
- Demonstrable ability to meet and/or exceed sales targets.
- Insurance background is helpful, but not essential; however, a drive and genuine passion to learn and develop within the insurance industry is essential.
- Active listening skills with the emotional resilience to work under pressure.
- Strong communicator with a natural sales flair.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Able to work co-operatively with other team members.
- Adaptability and management of the continual changes within the insurance landscape.
- Capable of working on own initiative and managing own workload effectively.
- Competent with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Articulate and presentable with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Salary and benefits
- £25k-£32k per annum (DoE) plus commission.
- Office based position (Hove) in the first 12 months in order to complete ongoing training and development. After this, successful candidates may be able to work from home for part of the week (Mondays and Fridays).
- Full-time 9am-5pm Monday - Friday. Some flexibility with hours as long as you are able to work in the office Monday-Friday.
- 28 days (inclusive of Bank Holidays) per year, rising to 33 days (inclusive of Bank Holidays) after two years’ service.
- Pension 3% Employer contribution (after qualifying period).
- Benefits programme which enables employees to annually claim for dental and optical plus additional benefits (after qualifying period).
- Private medical insurance offered to all employees and dependents after two years’ service.
