Randstad are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major infrastructure project in Somerset. This is a contract role offering a competitive rate and the opportunity to work on a critical project within a leading construction company.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Site Agent in overseeing all aspects of the project, including planning, coordination, and execution of works.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of a team of site staff, including technicians, surveyors, and operatives.
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Implement and maintain safety procedures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Manage and resolve technical issues that arise on site, ensuring timely and efficient solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including site surveys, drawings, reports, and safety records.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • A strong understanding of construction methods and processes, particularly within the nuclear or energy sectors.
  • Experience working on complex projects, ideally within the nuclear or energy sectors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working with leading construction companies in the UK.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards for nuclear and/or energy projects.
  • Experience with construction software, such as AutoCAD and BIM.
