Lydd Airport is a busy and expanding general aviation airport serving a wide range of aircraft operations including commercial, corporate, private, training, military, and unmanned aerial systems in Class G airspace. We are seeking a Manager Air Traffic Services to join our busy and expanding general aviation airport. This role requires strong management, leadership and administrative skills from an individual who can lead the unit as the business undertakes significant development and growth.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Aerodrome (ADI/TWR), Approach Procedural (APP) rated Air Traffic Control Officer with a Met Observer's Certificate, OJTI endorsement and UK Class 3 ATCO Medical.
Main Responsibilities:- Maintain a safe, effective, and efficient Air Traffic Control Service, including overseeing the daily operations of the ATC team.
- Ensure staff are correctly licensed, current, and competent.
- Manage staffing, training, and rostering in accordance with regulatory and business requirements.
- Liaise with CAA SARG and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Perform the role of Safety Manager for the ANSP SMS.
- Assist with physical and electronic safeguarding.
- Act as the Airport's provider/source of aeronautical information to AIS via Aurora (UK AIP) or NOTAM.
- Oversee the SMS, QMS and Change Management.
- Ensure reporting and investigation of occurrences.
- Oversee meteorological service provision.
- Liaise with external ATC Engineering Services in relation to maintenance and fault resolution of CNS.
- Act as editor for all operational ATC documents.
- Maintain UK (EU) 2017/373 Compliance Matrices.
- Manage internal and external audits.
- Administer the ATS function.
- Represent ATS at managerial level as well as externally.
- UK ATCO licence holder with current ADI/TWR and APP rating.
- Current UK Class 3 ATCO Medical Certificate.
- Experience of air traffic control environment and documentation.
- Proven track record in successful Management of Air Traffic services.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of air traffic systems and regulations.
- Meet requirements to hold a Lydd Airport security pass.
- Good organisational and managerial skills with evidence of previous managerial experience.
- Experience of document creation and management.
- Meteorological Observer's Certificate.
- Knowledge of UAS operations and regulatory framework.
- Salary c£70,000, dependant on experience.
- Annual Leave entitlement of 35 days.
