Mechanical Handling Engineer

Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Mechanical Handling Engineer – to join their existing team in Plymouth (hybrid working, usually a couple of days a month) on a 12 month contract basis. The Role In order to deliver the MoD’s submarine and warship programmes, a significant programme of infrastructure investment is required on the Devonport site. The ‘Major Infrastructure Projects’ (MIP) Business Unit has been established to support this. As a Mechanical Handling Engineer , you will be responsible for but not limited to: Draft technical design documentation including; requirements, design reports, presentations and calculations. Oversee and support generation of a 3D model, 2D CAD drawings and BOMs. Draft technical queries and change records. Update or provide information to support updating extant documents such as the DSR, OMM, Job Plans and Inspection methods. Oversee conversion of existing design records into a 3D model Maintain and update the project registers of technical queries, change requests, design review requests and design review actions.
