We are currently seeking a Support Mold Maker/Grinder Operator with the following qualifications:

Summary of Role

This position focuses on grinding components using wet and manual grinders, operating heat treat ovens, and supporting Lead Mold Makers with mold build tasks as directed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed all quality requirements, scheduled hours, and deadlines for all tasks.
• Maximize efficiency by minimizing time charged to components.
• Maintain an attitude of continuous improvement and suggest enhancements.
• Keep the department neat, organized, and clean at all times.
• Support a self-sustaining department that meets all internal customer requirements.
• Use the schedule to prioritize and complete components.
• Grind components to meet all dimensions and quality standards.
• Record steel inspections as required.
• Laser engrave components according to print and process specifications.
• Assist with tool building tasks under the supervision of the Lead Mold Maker.
• Ensure all work satisfies internal customer expectations and engineering guidelines.
• Coordinate inspection of finished components with the quality department.
• Adjust schedules as needed, coordinate with shop scheduler, and update department schedules accordingly.
• Suggest equipment, software, and resource improvements for efficiency.
• Maintain department housekeeping, cleanliness, and organization.
