EF Education First is seeking an enthusiastic Residence Coordinator to champion the welfare of international students at our vibrant summer school. Your Role
EF York is looking for a responsible and energetic individual to join our Residence Team for summer 2025 as a Residence Coordinator. You will help create a safe, welcoming, and fun living environment for our international students while ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. This role provides a great opportunity for you to build your organisational and leadership skills in a supportive, team-focused environment.
This is a live-in position where accommodation and full board are provided at no extra cost. Roles run from June/July β August 2025.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the smooth running of the student residences
- To ensure the residences provide a comfortable, safe living environment
- To provide the highest level of customer service at all times
- To help maintain βone teamβ, where the different departments liaise and interact effectively and efficiently
- Allocates new bookings to residential accommodation
- Assists customers with residence queries, ensuring prompt follow-up and excellent customer service
- Liaises with external suppliers where cleaning/maintenance issues are reported
- Completes weekly occupancy statistics
- Ensures allocation information sent to residence suppliers is accurate and on time
- Prepares arrival & departure documents and provides keys for all arrivals
- Follows up on any welfare and disciplinary issues together with the Residence Manager and ensures sanctions are applied in line with EFβs residence rules and regulations
- Assists with the training and supervision of temporary staff/interns
- Participates in student intakes and first week chats
- Shares emergency duty on a rota basis
Requirements
- Given the on-call nature of the position, a flexible, hands-on approach to the nature & hours of work undertaken is essential
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and CRMs (desirable)
- Highly motivated, energetic, positive
- Customer service-oriented, friendly & approachable manner
- Able to remain calm under pressure & to diffuse potentially difficult situations
- Sensitive to the needs of international students living away from home
- Excellent communicator with students, colleagues, and external clients
- Attention to detail, organised & thorough
- All offers are subject to a clear enhanced DBS check and two references
- Legally able to work in the UK at commencement of employment
