Trial Balance are delighted to have been exclusively assigned by a repeat client, a highly regarded retailer with a superb brand reputation. This is a new role for the business and has come about after a period of strong growth. The role is offered as a permanent, full-time contract and comes with a large amount of hybrid working available too.

Working alongside an experienced Group Accountant, the Assistant Accountant will play a pivotal role in supporting the overall finance function. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of the management accounts
  • Purchase invoicing and bank reconciliations
  • VAT reporting
  • Credit control
  • Regular review of the purchase ledger
  • Adhoc tasks to cover where needed across the finance team

For this role, we seek an experienced candidate who possesses at least 18 months of general finance experience. This client is refreshingly open-minded regarding professional qualifications. Ideally, they would be looking for someone who is either qualified/part-qualified; however, they are equally open to considering applicants who are qualified by experience. Strong IT skills, particularly with Excel, are a must, and the role will require strong attention to detail.
