The Bent Agency seeks a literary assistant, preferably with at least a year's publishing industry experience, to support its growing UK business. The Bent Agency UK Ltd is a growing literary agency that represents commercial and literary fiction and non-fiction for children and adults. We work closely with the Bent Agency USA and represent authors from all over the world, and we’re proud of our entrepreneurial, author-focused ethos.
We’re looking for an assistant to provide support to our UK office, with a particular focus on foreign rights. Duties will include:
- Processing contracts and payments
- Writing copy for and maintaining our foreign rights guide
- Book fair scheduling
- General office administration
The ideal candidate will have superlative communication and administrative skills, with a particular flair for clear, professional writing. You will be extremely organised, comfortable with performing a lot of varied tasks quickly, and accustomed to and comfortable with handling sensitive situations with discretion. You’ll have a keen eye for detail and a genuine interest in the publishing industry.
