Our client is a c. £15 million turnover Group of businesses based in Bilsthorpe (in between Mansfield and Newark). It is a well established, stable and successful business.
Job Description
You will be working as part of a small finance team of 3 and will be reporting into the qualified Financial Controller. As to be expected with working for a SME, your role will be extremely varied. However, during summer months, your role will be heavily focused on purchase ledger. Your varied duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Preparing the P&L and balance sheet for one company within the Group
- Processing multi currency purchase invoices and posting to the nominal ledger
- Calculating and inputting landed costs
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Posting accruals and prepayments
- Posting wages and salary journals
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Maintaining the fixed asset register and calculating depreciation
- Producing quarterly VAT returns
- Processing and reconciling end of day sales and revenue reports
- Posting and calculating credit card and other receipts
- Reconciling bank statements and making cashbook entries
- Maintaining and reconciling petty cash
- Reconciling Paypal and Ebay accounts and handling any queries
- Supporting the Financial Controller with budgeting, forecasting and year end procedures
The Successful Applicant
To apply for this position, it would be helpful to have varied experience of working in finance, but this is not essential, as training will be provided where necessary. However, you must:
- Have recent experience of working in accounts
- Have experience of working in purchase ledger
- Live within a commutable distance to Bilsthorpe
- Have the ability to work in a busy environment
What’s on Offer
This is a permanent position, which is offering:
- £28,000 - £33,000 (dependent upon experience)
- Potential for study support for an accounting qualification
- 23 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Standard hours are 8:30-5 but these could be varied slightly
