Our client, a specialist Fine Art & Antiques Shipping Company based in South London, is seeking to appoint an experienced Fine Art Packer. As the Fine Art Packer, you will be handling and packing various types of fine art and securing them in a truck for safe transport. You will also prepare condition reports and photograph artworks, as well as pick up and deliver a variety of artworks including paintings, sculptures, and high-value furniture of all descriptions.
Duties of the Fine Art Packer:
- Installation/De-Installation of various fine art and furniture
- Inspecting artworks to determine how, where, when, or if to touch them and how to pack for transport
- Installing artworks professionally in settings ranging from corporate to residential properties
- Interacting with art professionals and collectors
- Efficiently handling paperwork including bills of lading, labelling, timesheets, and detailed condition reports with photos
The ideal candidate will have 1 year+ experience in moving or fine art, be familiar with basic art terminology, and will have the ability to efficiently wrap/pack, load, span, and tie in artworks within a truck to keep them safe and stable during transport. We are keen to speak with highly motivated candidates who have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as you will be communicating with the operations team throughout the day.
Experience required for the Fine Art Packer:
- Be physically fit and have the ability to work comfortably on ladders, scaffolding, or mechanized lifts
- Professional appearance and demeanour
