Facility Management Corporation, known as FMC Ice Sports, was formed in 1992 to deliver high quality ice sport facility management and operations, as well as ice-based programs that benefit our communities and promote interest in both hockey and skating. We operate 25 public ice skating arenas across Massachusetts in partnership with the Commonwealth, municipalities, and educational institutions.
FMC is looking for both Lead and Junior Instructors to work under the general supervision of each program's Supervisor. These positions assist or instruct groups and related lessons for FMC learn to skate, learn to play, and/or figure skating programs. General responsibilities will include:
- Interacting with children and adults
- Demonstrating proper skating techniques
- Performing various customer experience-related duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively use customer service skills to control customer interactions.
- Educate the public on safe ice activity habits and attitudes.
- Accurately evaluate placements of students for skating instruction.
- Enforce all rules regarding rink policies and operating procedures.
- Execute policies and procedures professionally and accurately.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patrons and staff.
- Complete all tasks assigned by the Program Supervisor on time.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings.
- Perform any other related or similar duty as assigned.
This is a part-time position. Most FMC programs are held in the afternoon, evenings, and on weekends. Dates and times for programs may vary.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience assisting or teaching skating classes is preferred.
- Applicants must be able to ice skate proficiently. Figure skaters should have achieved and passed ISI Freestyle 3 or USFS Freeskate 3. Hockey players should have participated in multiple years of formal league play.
Compensation: Pay based on experience and industry qualifications. All offers are contingent upon passing a thorough background check including a CORI, SORI, and National Criminal History Background check. FMC Ice Sports is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
