To support the upcoming Matilda The Musical UK & Ireland Tour, we are seeking an experienced Deputy Head of Wigs to join us from September 2025 until February 2027. The Deputy Head of Wigs will ensure the production runs smoothly and consistently throughout the tour, adapting to challenges while maintaining the show's original artistic vision.
Requirements:
- Strong hairdressing, wigs, and make-up skills.
- Understanding and practical knowledge of the principles and safe working practices in all areas of wigs and make-up.
- Knowledge of other theatre departments and the resident creative team.
- Good organisational and management skills.
- Applicants must have knowledge and practical experience in all areas of touring theatre's principles and safety practices.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, fixed-term touring contract lasting up to 18 months, from September 2025 to February 2027. The schedule includes 8 shows per week over six days (Tuesday to Sunday).
Additional Information:
The RSC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This role will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
