The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
Annualised hours contract - Minimum of 185 hours across the year during term time and school holidays. Monday-Thursday, 9.45am-2.15pm (Fridays if there is a Bank Holiday Monday) at Werrington Leisure Centre.

Health and Wellbeing Team: Do you have a passion for creating an inclusive environment in leisure activities? Would you love to work alongside the Health and Wellbeing Team on an amazing opportunity to develop disability activity clubs during term time and school holidays?
This role involves leading a team in delivering a range of leisure activities for children and young people aged 7-19 years with Special Educational Needs. Activities include reading, arts and crafts, games, exercise, and sports.
You will be a confident decision maker in a childcare environment. You can change communication styles to suit individuals and enjoy the challenge of creating activities that enable all participants to achieve their goals. You will be able to enthuse participants and staff to become active in a fun and sociable environment whilst being sensitive to individuals’ needs.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Planning, preparing & delivering high quality adaptable activity sessions.
- Leader and mentor to colleagues.
- Use a range of communication methods during sessions.
- Be responsible for the safety of participants and staff during sessions.
- Provide personal care when required.
- Administration such as registers, consent forms, needs assessments, and participant feedback.
- Manage, record and report any First Aid & Safeguarding incidents.
- Report to the Health and Wellbeing Lead on Key Performance Indicators.
- Input into the development of the programme.
Minimum Requirements:
- Childcare, Teacher, Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Experience of supporting or caring for children with special educational needs, disabilities or long-term health conditions.
- Experience of coordinating activities for people with disabilities or long-term health conditions.
- Able to travel to venues.

Experience Requirements:
- Punctual, has excellent verbal communication skills, ability to control and hold a group’s attention, interested in sports coaching/development, ability to plan and assess activities, ability to react professionally under pressure, seeks to increase their learning and experience through gaining new coaching qualifications.
Essential:
- Has a clear Enhanced DBS screen.
Desirable:
- Holds a clean driving licence and has a car to get around in.
