Kepak McIntosh Donald are a globally recognised brand and the largest red meat producer in Scotland; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

We are now recruiting for entry level Slaughter Operatives interested in starting their career with us.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40-45hrs/week, 6am start

About the role:

  • Learn the key principles of abattoir.
  • Learn and identify different parts/by-products/cuts/joints of red meat.
  • Carry out slaughter, breakdown, boning, filleting and trimming of red meat.
  • Learn principles of processing red meat carcasses and by-products.
  • Prepare tools and equipment for use.
  • Sharpen and maintain cutting tools.
  • Understand and maintain product quality.
  • Learn and apply food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Learn and apply health and safety standards.
  • Any other duties as required by management and within the competency of the post holder.

Requirements:

  • No previous experience in slaughter and/or knife skills required.
